The Motion Picture Association of America is suing a Springfield woman and two other Florida residents for illegally downloading and swapping movies.
The lawsuit, filed in Panama City Federal Court, says Nicole Martin violated copyright laws when she downloaded two movies, "Hitch" and "House of Wax."
The lawsuit says the movies were downloaded from the Kazaaa Web site and shared with other Kazaa clients.
The Motion Picture Association is seeking damages and an injunction. Damages can be as much as $30,000 per film.
