It’s the answer to a question many of us would like to know. What is the secret to a long life?
There’s a lady in Liberty County who probably knows more about that topic than most.
Maggie Floyd from the Sweetwater Community near Bristol in Liberty County turned 106 years old this week. Five generations of her family gathered Friday afternoon for a big birthday party.

Now at 106 years of age, she credits her longevity to a higher power.
“By looking up to God, that’s how.”
Maggie has two children. Her youngest, Alice Dobey was born on November 11, 1918, the same day World War I ended.
Alice says he mother was strict and was never short on advice; advise that has stuck with her to this day.
“Whatever you do, do your best and treat people like you’d like for them to treat you. Be kind to everybody.”
Maggie Floyd’s family spans six generations. In addition to her two daughters, she had four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, 13 great, great grand children and one great, great, great, great grandchild.
