The area’s population is growing by leaps and bounds, and so is the Baytown Trolley system. On this tenth anniversary of the system it looks like even more good things are to come.
Not only is the Bay Town Trolley a thriving system, trolley shelters are being put up at various spots.
General Manager Doug Boice is excited the system is doing so well.
“Ten years, and still going strong; it’s a great feeling to see the big turnout we have today for the tenth anniversary celebration. The community has made the trolley grow and we expect more growth and more good things in the future.”
The ridership numbers for this year show in one month more people were riding the trolley than actually rode it the whole first year.
The first year saw 15,000 riders. Now the trolley has a quarter of a million passengers a year.
