Panama City Police Solve Numerous Car Burglaries

Arrested for at least 10 burglaries each were Lakane T. Brown, 18, and Ervin J. Brown, 26.

Alert citizens helped police by providing reports of a suspicious car leaving a nursing facility. Another found a stolen purse discarded a few blocks away

A few hours later patrolmen spotted the suspects vehicle and it sped away only to be stopped a short distance away.

Police obtained a search warrant on the suspects home at 404 Main Ave in Millville.

Detectives were able to recover property from the search belonging to a number burglary victims. Some of the property recovered consisted of purses, electronic items, handguns, and jewelry.

Based on information learned in the investigation, the suspects recently traveled from Alabama to Panama City, burglarizing vehicles along the way, continuing the burglaries until they were apprehended.

Both suspects are charged with 10 counts of burglary and one count of armed burglary. Both were booked into the Bay County Jail.

The investigation into the multiple burglaries is ongoing and additional charges will be filled. Surrounding law enforcement agencies may also have additional criminal charges for the two suspects. Detectives are currently identifying and sorting property that was recovered and will contact victims for identification of the stolen items.
