Preparing for Hurricane Season

Hurricane season officially kicks off in a few weeks and President Obama is trying to help raise awareness.
He announced this week "National Hurricane Preparedness Week".
Federal forecasters say this season could be another active year and they are expecting as many as 20 named storms.
Even though we do not have any warnings yet, now is the time to start making sure you are prepare for a storm.
There are items you can get now so that you do not wait until the last minute when time is running out.
-water
-canned food
-flashlight
-extra batteries
-generator.
The Panama City Beach Police Department is already prepping for the six month hurricane season.
"Our main goal is to protect our community and protect our citizens who evacuate,” said Sgt. Emily Melton. “Basically protect anyone and everyone and the property of all those who leave."
