Tornado Touched Down in Liberty County

Liberty County authorities say a tornado touched down there.

The Sheriff's Department says it hit Monday afternoon and flipped an unoccupied camping trailer in the Sumatra area.

No injuries and no serious damage has been reported.

The National Weather Service noticed the developing tornado shortly before 1 p.m. It's believed the tornado formed from a line of thunderstorms.

Leon County officials say the storms caused downed trees and power lines and some damage to homes.
