A Walton County man is in jail accused of stabbing his mother and his four-year-old nephew, then stabbing himself.
Walton County sheriff's investigators say Jeffery Dailey woke his mother, Paula Terrell, about 6:30 Monday morning and began stabbing her. They say he then attacked the four-year-old boy, Jordan Steele, who was asleep on the couch.
Terrell supposedly wrestled the knife away from her son, then called to her daughter, Renee Steele, to run and take the four-year-old out of the Santa Rosa Beach home. That's when Dailey allegedly got another knife from the kitchen and stabbed himself.
Four-year-old Jordan Steele is in serious condition with stab wounds to the head, neck, arms and back. Paula Terrell and Jeffery Dailey were treated and released.
Deputies then arrested Dailey, charging him with one count of aggregated battery and one count of attempted murder.
He’s lodged in the Walton County Jail in DeFuniak Springs.
