Double Deadly Shooting at Panama City Hotel, Suspect Killed in Tallahassee

PANAMA CITY - A suspect wanted for a double murder outside a Panama City hotel was shot and killed in a standoff with police in Tallahassee.

According to Panama City Police, 57-year-old Johnny Graham of Wilson, North Carolina and 44 year old Vikitha Briggs were shot multiple times outside the Courtyard Marriott on 23rd Street around 10:45 p.m. Graham was pronounced dead at the scene. Briggs was transported to a local hospital where she later died.

Witnesses who heard the shots called police and located both of the victims. They reported seeing a man running from the scene and then getting into a newer model maroon Dodge Charger.

Police developed a suspect based on evidence collected in the investigation. They requested assistance from the United States Marshals Florida Regional Task Force.

The task force is comprised of U.S. Marshals and members the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Panama City Police Department, and the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

Members of the task force, along with the Florida Highway Patrol, arrested Vikitha's estranged husband, Glenn, about 1:00 am., during a traffic stop and shootout near the Monroe Street exit in Tallahassee.

Glenn Briggs was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where he died.
