Sunday is National Ice Cream Day and what better place to celebrate than Panama City Beach, home of one of the best ice cream shops in the country.

Back in 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the third Sunday in July as “National Ice Cream Day.” In honor of the occasion, TripAdvisor gives you the inside scoop on the top 10 ice cream shops in the U.S.

Pink Pelican Ice Cream Barn, in Panama City Beach, makes the list. The store claims to serve “the finest ice cream on the Gulf Coast.” On the menu, 40 mouthwatering flavors including “Circus,” cotton candy ice cream loaded with dozens of colorful gummy bears. Homemade waffle cones, Italian ice, and old fashioned malts and milkshakes are also available.

“Consistently fresh, usually busy, and always friendly. Never a disappointment,” said a TripAdvisor traveler.
