A longtime local police officer has died following an extended illness.
Joseph Wayne Coram died Saturday. He began his law enforcement career with the Panama City Police Department. Coram was a former Chief Investigator with the Bay County sheriff's office for 17 years. He also served as an investigator for State Attorney Jim Appleman. He was named as the State Law Enforcement Officer of the year in the 1980's.
Joe and his brothers were the founders of Coram's Steak and Egg restaurants.
Funeral services for Joe Coram will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Panama City.
