Panama City Beach Life Guards

I AM A FORMER CITY RESIDENT THAT NOW LIVES IN THE COUNTY BUT AM STILL INTERESTED IN WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE CITY PIER. I AM HEARING THAT YOU STILL DO NOT HAVE SOME OF THE PERMITS NEEDED TO CONSTRUCT THE NEW ONE. NOW MY QUESTION IS HOW CAN THAT BE POSSIBLE ? ALL IT TAKES IS COMMON SENSE TO KNOW NOT TO START A PROJECT WITHOUT PROPER PERMITS TO DO SO. ALTHOUGH I HAVE A SENIOR CIT. PASS TO FISH THE PIER I HAVE NOT DONE SO FOR 0VER 3 YEARS BECAUSE OF THE CONDITION OF THE FACILITY ITSELF AND THE PEOPLE THAT USE IT. ALL WE HAVE HEAR SINCE OPAL CAME THROUGH IS WE ARE GOING TO FIX IT WHICH INCLUDES A FISH CLEANING STATION. YEAR AFTER YEAR IT IS THE SAME BUT NOW WE DO NOT HAVE PERMITS. DO ANY OF YOU KNOW WHAT IS GOING? I HAVE TALKED TO MAYORS , CITY MANAGER AND COMMISSIONERS AND ALL I GET IS THE SAME OLD RUN AROUND. I AM SURE THE PEOPLE THAT VOTED YOU INTO OFFICE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS BEING DONE , WHEN AND WHEN CAN WE EXPECT TO SEE THE COMPLETED PROJECT. YOU CAN ANSWER BY EMAIL.

Lifeguards are a good idea, but more importantly, how about a bike path or better lighting along West Front Beach? It is incredibly dangerous for pedestrians to walk at night. Considering rising gas prices and obesity, walking is becoming an increasing necessity for the citizenry. PCB Comms'nrs please consider.
