Rutherford High School has one of the oldest and most successful television and radio programs in the state, but the students will soon be learning the broadcasting business on state of the art equipment.
Rutherford's Com-Tech program received a $152,000 grant Thursday from Gulf Coast Community College.
The school will use the money to upgrade the television and radio production equipment.
Gulf Coast, which is an education partner of the Bay District School System, will also benefit.
One of the conditions of the grant is that Rutherford offer dual enrollment classes so students can receive both high school and college credits.
