Construction on the overpass to the west side of the Hathaway Bridge is marking another milestone.
Workers are about to pour the last of the concrete decks on the driving surface.
Construction for the flyover project began in the winter of 2003, and is expected to be completed by early summer.
It's supposed carry thru-traffic over the intersection of Thomas Drive and Highway 98. Workers say it will be a beautiful, well-lit, and nicely painted addition to the area.
Gary Bellamy is the Public Information Coordinator for the overall project and says, "We're doing well, and you see a front moving in. We're an outside construction job, weather's been an issue sometimes. We've had quite a few storms in the past two to three years, so we've worked well around them and the project's going very well."
The total cost of this project is about $30 million.
