A Florida college town is trying something new to cut down on underage drinking.
Gainesville, which is home to the University of Florida and Santa Fe Community College, is pushing for a state law requiring beer buyers to register their kegs.
It means beer buyers have to take ownership of their kegs and responsibility for the people attending and drinking at their party.
Police claim teenagers often get beer from parties held at private homes, and police say it would help in investigations into kegs of beer which are stolen from retailers and wholesalers.
Georgia, California, New York and North Carolina already have similar laws.
