Change at the Top Coming for GCCC

Dr. Robert McSpadden will be stepping down as president of Gulf Coast Community College.

McSpadden has been at Gulf Coast since he was a student in the 1960's. He has been President of the Community College for 19 years now.

He says he has many fond memories, too many, in fact, to choose a favorite, but he says with many changes happening at the college this is a good time to step down.

“I've had 40-something years to do what I can do for the college. The best thing I can do right now is say thank you and get out of the way."

The Board of Trustees meets in February and will begin discussing the process of selection who will replace Dr. McSpadden.
