Full power may not be restored to Saint George Island until Friday.
After a water spout tore through power lines last week, Progress Energy has sent a barge out into Apalachicola Bay to put up some concrete poles.
Managers say with good weather and good seas all should be up to speed before the weekend.
Butch Baker is Franklin County’s Emergency Management Director and says, "Well, about permanent power, they hope Thursday or Friday depending on the weather. By that time they'll have the seven concrete poles installed and the lines strung across the top."
Progress Energy reports that blips in the power are caused by clients overloading the five generators on the island.
They're asking everyone on Saint George to conserve energy until the power poles are in place and full commercial power is restored later in the week.
