The Indian Summer Festival has drawn thousands of guests to Panama City Beach throughout the years, but TDC members are aiming to increase those numbers and reflect a more upscale festival in years to come. The revamped event will now be called the Panama City Beach Seafood, Wine and Music Festival.

"Doing some jazz and some blues, which is a little different then what's been done in the past. It's been fairly focused on country and pop in the past, so this year it's going to be mixed up a little bit with the music format," said Andy Phillips, a TDC member.

Ticket prices won't be set until the entertainment is confirmed.

"We can't sell Elvis for nothing, and since he's not available we're going to try to give you the best we can get at a reasonable price," said Jack Bishop, the festival organizer.

The festival will continue to support Florida seafood and local restaurants.

"That's a very difficult part for a local restaurant to participate in selling the food and setting up booths. We understand that and we want them involved in our celebrity chef cook-off and our food demonstrations and Florida seafood. We want to project Florida seafood, and this is a good place to do it," said Bishop.

This year a new aspect of wine will be introduced to the festival. Organizers expect that to expand in the future.

"Kendall Jackson Winery out of California and some of the other bigger vineyards. They're planning their 09 events now and their schedules now, so I think we'll have a little bit more success as we look down the road since we are under some time constraints this year," said Phillips.

The festival will take place October 10th through the 12th at Frank Brown Park.

A new children's concert is being added to this year's event to help increase the family atmosphere. Music and entertainment will be continuous throughout the entire weekend.
