Bay County commissioners have decided they like the person they have representing them on the Panama City Bay County International Airport Authority Board.
The county gets to appoint two members to the board.
One of those, Andy McKenzie, was up for reappointment.
Local Attorney Jerry Gerde also applied for the post, but did not attend Tuesday’s meeting.
McKenzie thanked the board for supporting him the last four years and expresses his desire to remain on the board until the new airport is completed.
Commissioners voted unanimously to reappoint McKenzie for another four year term.
Commissioners also got an update on the budget process.
It’s still on hold until Property Appraiser Zane Spitzer can get all the tax roll numbers in.
Until they receive those numbers, commissioners don't know exactly how much money they'll have to work with next year.
Jerry Girvin, with the County Commission said, "I understand that Mr. Spitzer asked for a 10 day delay. We're pretty close to that so we don't know. The only thing we can do is just keep asking, and I'm sure that when he gets the information he'll pass it along to us and then we can set our meetings and go forth."
Once Spitzer reports the tax roll numbers, the county's financial advisor can prepare a budget proposal.
At that point, the board will schedule a budget workshop.
