House Speaker Allan Bense, who is from Panama City, sat through a day-long hearing Wednesday in which Juvenile Justice officials were called on the carpet concerning the death of Martin Lee Anderson at the Bay County Boot Camp.
The House Speaker says it's now up to DJJ to prove that all of the boot camps should remain open.
"Clearly there's a problem. I haven't seen the video of the young man and my heart goes out to his family, but apparently it's not a pretty sight."
A tape of the incident, in which Anderson died later, still has not been made public. Gov. Jeb Bush says the tape should be released as soon as possible.
