We now know the name of the man who was revived by Bay County Fire Rescue Saturday morning.
Twenty-one-year-old James H. Clark is in Tallahassee after he was flown there. Bay County Fire Rescue could not tell us his condition at this time, but they say, considering the smoke damage to the kitchen, he's probably suffering severe smoke inhalation.
Clark's kitchen caught on fire around 7 in the morning at this home off Alfa Avenue near Highway 231 and Baldwin. Crews were able to save him as well as his home. They say the accidental fire was caused by unattended cooking supplies.
The 21-year-old Hiland Park man's neighbors were the ones who made the initial call, and when crews arrived the door was locked. After knocking it down, crews found the man unconscious on the floor.
Marcus Vigil with Bay County Fire Rescue said, "Once they got the victim out they were able to revive him and then EMS transported him within about 10 minutes."
Bay County Fire Rescue said the fire was contained within just a few minutes.
