The Calhoun-Liberty hospital board has fired the hospital's administrator, saying the facility needs to go another direction.
The board asked "Ben Bruner" to tender his resignation last Friday and that Bruner complied with the request.
Bruner had been the administrator for the last seven years. He was originally hired by the hospital's former management company, Dausee Health Care Systems.
Late last year, Dausee told the board it was bankrupt and planned to close the hospital.
The board got rid of Dausee and took over the license to operate the facility. Board members asked Bruner to stay on after they retook control, but apparently that relationship has changed.
Nursing Director Barbara Potter is serving as interim administrator while the board looks for a replacement.
