Another attempt fails to stop the sale of the old Bay Line train depot building and the surrounding property.
Lawyers for a group called Citizens for Better Government, as well as Warren and Elsie Ray Clary presented their case before Judge Gen Hess this week.
They argued Panama City, the North Downtown Community Redevelopment Agency, and the Kingston Group are trying to execute an illegal contract for the sale of the property.
They say the highest bid wasn't accepted, and the Kingston bid did not require the restoration of the train depot.
Judge Hess dismissed the lawsuit, saying the defendants did not have standing to sue and did not show how they, as private citizens, would be harmed by the sale.
The citizen's group has 20 days to appeal this ruling.
