DOT Says Half Billion Budgeted For Major Area Road Projects

Florida's DOT Secretary, Ananth Prasad, says Governor Rick Scott's new budget proposal includes $85 Million for building the 23rd Street Flyover.

Also in the plans is 289 million for the four laning of US 331 in Walton County from the Choctawhatchee Bay north to I-10.

The DOT also will spend $162 Million for the continued four laning of state Road 79 from Ebro north to the Interstate at Bonifay. And $44 million is allocated in the budget for the continued 4 lane construction from the Bay and WashingtonCounty line to the Interstate at Chipley.

The announcement came in Panama City at 8:30 Thursday morning.

Secretary Prasad says a total of $974 million is now allocated and in the budget plans for DOT projects across Northwest Florida.
