Stiff Jail Term Given on Federal Drug Charges

An Apalachicola man will spend the next 21 years in prison after pleading guilty in federal court to drug charges.

Thirty-five-year-old James Demetrius Gordon was arrested in August and charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess cocaine.

His arrest followed a joint investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

He was sentenced to 21 years and 10 months in federal prison to be followed by eight years of probation.
