Panama City police officers have several people in custody on drug charges today, after a traffic stop led to raids on two houses.

Investigators with the Panama City Police Department Special Operations Unit, along with special agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bay County Sheriff's Office, applied for the warrants after officers say they found a pound of packaged and compressed marijuana and close to $5,000 in cash inside a vehicle.

One of the search warrants was for the home of a passenger in the vehicle, Freddie Knowles.

Investigators say they found over 23 pounds of packaged and compressed marijuana inside his house at 2807 East Third Court, in the Millville area of Panama City.

Knowles was arrested, along with the driver of the vehicle, Jason Allen Addison, and another passenger, Jeremy James Jones. All three are from Panama City.

A second search warrant resulted in the arrests of two Hispanic males and the recovery of more than $12,000 cash from a motel room in the 1000 block of E 23rd Street.

Adan Arevalo, and Juan Sifuentes were arrested in a hotel raid. They are both from Texas. Police are happy with the bust.

Lt. Mark Aviles with Panama City Police said, "Getting that much marijuana, that's a significant bust. It was a significant amount of marijuana, the way it was packaged. We got it before it was distributed anywhere else, and we also got the money that it was bought with and the people that came to Panama City from Texas to sell it. So, we ended up getting all the players that we could get."

Allen was charged with possession with intent to distribute, Jones was arrested for an active warrant on an unrelated charge, and Knowles was arrested and charged possession with intent and maintaining a drug house.
