The apparent Republican presidential nominee, John McCain, will be bringing his campaign to Bay County August 1st. It will be the first, and most likely only, time McCain will be in Panama City before the November general election.

The last time Sen. McCain was in this area was earlier this year on January 22nd, when he held a rally at the Okaloosa County Convention Center. This trip is shaping up to be a much different affair.

McCain's campaign organizers say he'll attend a couple of private fundraisers, followed by a speech at the Marina Civic Center.

Once he's finished his speech, McCain will introduce the country music recording artists "Big and Rich" for a concert.

It is not yet known if the concert will be free or if there will be an admission charge.

Again, all of this is scheduled for August 1st, but as with any national campaign, the plans are tentative. As soon as we get more information, we'll pass it along.
