If you're accustomed to waiting for a disconnection notice to come in the mail before you pay your city of Marianna utility bill, you’d better stop waiting.
In an attempt to save money, Marianna has decided to stop sending out late notices.
The decision came after the city conducted a survey and found they were the only municipality in the area sending out the reminders.
City of Marianna Official Kim Gainer says the move will save them at least $600 a month.
"With the budget year like it is we're trying to reduce cost in every area we can find and that was the area we thought we could reduce cost without having an impact on customers."
The change is effective immediately. Officials say the due date and the cut off date will be on customers’ bills.
