The death of 63-year-old Nancy Garrett has taken a strange turn. The Forest Park woman disappeared Sunday afternoon, supposedly to take a walk around the neighborhood. When she didn't return, her husband reported her missing. Bay County sheriff's investigators found her body Tuesday afternoon, but they say a lot of things just don't add up.

Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen says every interview they've conducted with Garrett's family members so far has been suspicious and the only way he can describe this case is bizarre.

"I would hope you trust me when I say this is bizarre," said Bay Co. Sheriff Frank McKeithen.

But even Sheriff Frank McKeithen has a difficult time explaining the reason.

This is what investigators have pieced together so far. After two days of work, search teams found Nancy Garrett's body in a shed in the woods behind her home. The autopsy shows she died from a single gunshot wound. The gun was her own, but investigators have not figured out yet where the actual crime took place.

McKeithen says Garrett's body was definitely not in that shed Monday.

"From looking and seeing what we discovered it was pretty evident that someone had moved some of the items inside the shed and placed the body in there," said McKeithen.

Investigators aren't sure what crime they’re investigating. It could be a murder, or, if Garrett committed suicide, someone moved her body after her death, making it a case of tampering with evidence.

McKeithen says for now all of Garrett's family members are considered suspects.

"In one situation we're dealing with victims. In another situation, because of the evidence and some of the things that have happened, we're dealing with suspects," said McKeithen.

They might not have answers in this bizarre case any time soon.

"I'm not sure, to be honest with you, we're ever going to come to a conclusion that we all agree on," said McKeithen.

Sheriff McKeithen stressed he does not believe there is a murderer on the loose. Investigators say they believe everyone involved in the case is related to the Garrett family.
