Highway 20 Wildfire

Bay County Fire and Rescue got the call just before 1 o'clock.

The blaze was first reported by the groundskeeper of a nearby recreational baseball field. He originally thought a dumpster had caught fire. It wasn't until fire crews arrived that they realized the smoke was coming from the woods.

The fire damaged about two and a half acres of land. Fire officials say dry conditions and low humidity helped the fire spread quickly. It took firefighters about two hours to put the blaze out.

They say they do not know what started the fire.
