One Dead, Four Hurt in 231 Crash

JACKSON COUNTY-- One person is dead, 4 other injured in a single vehicle crash in Jackson County.

It happened about 10:00 Monday morning on highway 231, about 2 miles north of Compass Lake.

State Troopers say 5 Dothan men were heading south in a Chevy Avalanche pick-up, when it ran into the median.

They say the driver over-corrected and flipped the truck.

One of the men was thrown from the vehicle.

Another was partially thrown-out.

Paramedics air-lifted 1 man to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Another was airlifted to Bay Medical Sacred Heart.

One died, the other is in critical condition. Ambulances carried the other 3 to Bay Medical.

NewsChannel 7's Dothan sources have identified the man who died as 64 year old Willis Rambo Sr.

His son, 36 year old Willis Rambo Jr. was driving.

Passengers 56 year old Nathaniel Patterson, 46 year old Michael Snell, and 43 year old Roy Thomas were all injured.

Troopers say Patterson and Thomas were the ones throw from the vehicle.

Thomas is in critical condition.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
