PANAMA CITY, Fla There will soon be plenty of places to park at Bay Medical/Sacred Heart, thanks to a new parking garage approved during today's Panama City Community Redevelopment Agency meeting.
A Birmingham company hopes to start construction on the 6 story parking garage and medical office building by the end of the year.
The bottom 4 stories will house 430 free parking spaces, while the top two will be for office space.
It's a 17.9 million dollar project that is sure to alleviate the parking problems the hospital has dealt with for years. Mayor Greg Brucnicki says it’s the number 1 problem for the medical center. The C-R-A Tuesday morning approved an 850 thousand dollar grant to help build the structure.
The Birmingham company will own it and lease it to Bay Medical/Sacred Heart. It hope to have it complete by April of 2016.
