Another landmark is the latest victim of the price of progress.
A couple of months ago we told you the Holiday Lodge Restaurant and Motel on the west end of the Hathaway Bridge had been sold to developers. It’s been a fixture at the entrance to the local beach for at least 50 years.
Construction of a high rise was started on the east end of the property a few weeks ago and this week the demolition of the old two story motel complex got underway.
Part of the brick structures have already been knocked down and the debris is ready to be carried off.
The rest of the Holiday Lodge should be on the ground in a couple of days.
