State Biologists Probe Dead Dolphin

Residents along Panama City’s Beach Drive called state wildlife officials Friday after spotting a dead Bottle Nosed Dolphin beach on the shoreline.

The mammal had washed ashore along the western end of Beach Drive and apparently was dead when it was first spotted.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission biologists took samples to send to a state lab t help determine the cause of death.

Officials told NewsChannel Seven they didn’t see any visible signs of trauma.

The dolphin will be buried along the beach where it was found after the testing is complete.
