Congressman Cuts Ribbon

Congressman Allan Boyd is touring Bay County, making several stops including at the Naval Support Activity.

Boyd cut the ribbon on the brand new 40,000 square foot Littoral Warfare Research Facility. The building will serve as the Navy's foremost research center on unmanned vehicles.

Boyd told reporters he believes the government needs to invest more money in similar facilities.

“We have the most powerful military in the world, and for us to stay that way we have to stay ahead of the curve in terms of our technology."

The Navy says the robots designed there will replace solders on the battlefield and help save lives.
