Springfield police have arrested three people in connection with Tuesday’s gang related shooting at the intersection of St. John Street and Kilborn Ave.
They say the shooting is a result of the city's growing gang problem. It was the fourth one reported in Springfield and the east side of Panama City since the beginning of the year.
Officers say they've noticed an increase in gang related graffiti around town, so now officers are recording people's information who they suspect of being in a gang.
Lt. Lamar Hobbs of the Springfield PD says keeping tabs on gang members is a top priority right now.
"Help identify who we're dealing with. If you have a gang related crime in your city you can identify maybe or have some information as to who it was."
Police say the gang problem on the eastside has been growing in recent months.
