A pilot with the 46th Test Wing was remembered Tuesday during a base memorial service.
A spokesman for the Air Armament Center at Eglin Air Force Base said Lt. Col. Joseph Hoelscher suffered convulsions and lost consciousness after a run at the base track.
Hoelscher was the operations officer for the 486th Flight Test Squadron. He was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio.
The spokesman said the run was part of an Air Force fitness test, which includes sit-ups and push-ups that all airmen have to pass.
Last year, Master Sergeant Steven Goodfellow of Eglin's 96th Air Base Wing collapsed and died after the fitness run at Tyndall Air Force Base.
