A man is in jail after a police chase Wednesday morning ended with a crash.
Investigators say 27-year-old Protronius George Anthony of Panama City took off when a Bay County Sheriff's deputy tried to pull him over at Highway 98 and Beck Avenue a little after 6 a.m.
The chase ended at the corner of Roosevelt and East 15th Street after Anthony lost control of the car. He ran away from the scene but was eventually caught by a K-9 deputy after being pepper sprayed.
Anthony's a suspect in at least three robberies, including overnight robberies at the Express Lane at Joan and North Lagoon and The Fillups Store at West 98 and Mound Ave in St. Andrew. He has also been charged with the Tuesday afternoon robbery of Marie's Ladies Hat and Apparel Shop on East 5th downtown.
Anthony's in the Bay County Jail charged with robbery and fleeing and eluding.
