Michael Forbes is going to prison for life for his part in the 2002 murder of Desmond Ray.

Circuit Judge Don. T. Sirmons sentenced Forbes to Life on Wednesday after a jury found him guilty back in March of being a principal to Ray’s murder.

Judge Sirmons tacked on an additional 15 years for a conspiracy to murder conviction.

Forbes will actually serve more prison time that the triggerman in the murder, Benjamin McDonald. He is serving 30 years in prison after his jury rejected a first degree murder charge and convicted him of manslaughter.

Forbes, McDonald and Two other teens devised a plan to shoot Ray at the Pana Villa Apartment complex on West 17th Street because Ray had shot at one of their friends.

Forbes led the others to Ray the night of the killing.
