Raptor Experiences Uncommanded Nose Gear Retraction

A 325th Fighter Wing F-22A Raptor experienced an uncommanded nose gear retraction at approximately 4 p.m. Thursday after a mission from Tyndall Air Force Base. The mishap came during engine shut down procedures.

The retraction caused the frame of the aircraft to settle on the weapons bay doors.

No one was injured during the incident, and its cause as well as the extent of necessary repair is now being investigated.
