Airport Move Clears Another Hurdle

The airport relocation project has gotten another green light from the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA informed the Panama City Bay County Airport Authority that is has approved the final environmental impact study for the proposed airport site in West Bay.

The EIS was a huge obstacle to be cleared before Bay County officials could move the airport from it's present location to West Bay.

The next big step will be to gather sales proposals for the current airport property, which should begin this fall.

Airport officials hope to open the new airport sometime in 2010.
