A former Catholic priest, accused of sending sexually suggestive photos and video to a 15-year-old boy, could be going to prison.
A six-person Gulf County jury convicted 51-year-old Thomas A. Crandall for two counts of transmission of materials harmful to minors via Internet connection.
The Mobile, Alabama man was arrested last June. Crandall served over 12 years as pastor of a Catholic church in Port St. Joe.
He sent the material to Gulf County Sheriff's Inv. Chris Buchanan, who was posing online as a 15-year-old boy. Crandall had already left the priesthood at the time.
He faces five years in prison for each count. He's also facing possible federal charges.
