A Panama City attorney has formally jumped into the race for the county judgeship which will be filled in this fall’s election.
"Hoot" Crawford is up against two others who are running, Elijah Smiley and Shane Vann.
Crawford graduated from Florida State law school in 1996, then permanently settled in Bay County.
He says he's ready for the race and is thankful for the community support backing him.
“Bay County deserves a judge that will be fair to all the people, all the time, in every case, everyday, and I will be fair to everybody."
Incumbent Judge Smiley has indicated he will drop out of this race when the Governor signs the bill creating a new additional circuit judgeship. Smiley will apply for that newly created judgeship.
