The Panama City Beach City Council met this afternoon to try and resolve the dispute between the owners of Horizon South condominiums and the Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort.

Owners on both sides say the easement belongs to them, but they're working together towards an agreement.

Horizon South owners say the land was given to them back in 1951, but the Sandpiper Beacon says that was revoked in 1997.

The two sides met today and came before council members to let them know they're close to resolving the issue but need just a little more time.

Tim Sloan, a Horizon South Attorney, says, "I think we are getting much closer to that after our meeting today. We are talking about having the document finalized next week and executed within the following week thereafter."

The easement is located in the 1700 block of Front Beach Road.
