Bay County law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty were honored at this week’s annual law enforcement memorial ceremony.
Seven fallen law enforcement officers and their families were recognized.
Christina Kight was among the family members in attendance. She is the widow of Panama City Beach Police Sergeant Kevin Kight who was shot last year on Easter Sunday during a routine traffic stop.
There was also a bagpipes performance, the playing of "Taps," a wreath-laying, and a 21-gun salute.
Pastor Craig Conner of the First Baptist Church of Panama City addressed the crowd.
“They are no longer with us physically but they're influence will never be snuffed out and we honor them today for their influence."
A number of local dignitaries were on hand.
