The Bay County Health Department has confirmed a case of bacterial meningitis here locally.
Health officials won’t give any details about the victim, but say they have determined there is not a threat to the general public, and that all of the people who had contact with the meningitis victims have been notified.
Some of the typical meningitis symptoms include a high fever, a headache, vomiting, stiff neck and a rash.
Meningitis comes on suddenly and progresses rapidly.
