A Dry Pool

The 600,000 gallon pool at the Panama City Beach Aquatics Center at Frank Brown Park was drained by mistake overnight Friday.

City officials say a computer glitch with the filtration system accidentally opened the backwash, draining the community pool at the start of the 4th of July holiday weekend.

They called in beach firefighters to fill it back up so it could open on schedule on Saturday.

With the help of a 500 gallon per minute fire hose, it too firefighters a little over four hours to put the needed water in the pool.
