A dune restoration project on Navarre Beach in the Florida Panhandle is on hold after the death of a loggerhead turtle.
Officials say the juvenile turtle, a protected species, died this weekend.
The project is expected to be shut down until at least Wednesday, but one official says the project might be delayed until the end of turtle nesting season October 31.
It's the third time a turtle has interrupted the project.
Meanwhile, the beach restoration project at Destin remains show down until October after four endangered sea turtles were killed by the dredge used in the pumping operations.
