They called for locals to conserve water. The huge crowd of tourists showed up, and the water supply is holding.

Bay County uses somewhere between 36 and 40 million gallons of treated water a day. 40 million is capacity. If the demand goes higher, then the county has to tap into its water reserve.

That hasn’t happened, but that doesn’t mean people shouldn’t continue to conserve water.

County officials are asking people to conserve water as long as the current drought continues here in our area.
