Teen Struck by Lightning in Gulf Shores

A 15-year-old is in a Pensacola hospital after he was struck by lightning while visiting Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Adam Bradford was struck after a thunderstorm quickly formed near the beach shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday. He was listed in critical condition at Baptist Hospital.

Authorities say the teen from Killen, Alabama was walking with his mother along West Beach. Both were in ankle deep water when lightning struck, knocking them over.

The mother got up and began pulling her son out of the water. Other beachgoers helped her.

Two Georgia paramedics visiting the beach performed CPR on Bradford.

The mother wasn't injured.
