A 17 year old Crestview youth has died in a single car crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol identified the fatality as Mitchell Lee Kertis.

Troopers say the crash occurred on State Road 85 at its intersection with State Road 123 at Crestview.

Witnesses told the Florida Highway Patrol Kertis ran a red light at the intersection, lost control as he swerved to avoid other traffic, and overturned several times.

Kertis, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected as the vehicle overturned

meanwhile in gadsden county, a 56 year old Quincy man was killed in another single car crash, this one on Gadsden County Road 270 just east of County Road 269.

56 year old John Mack Shrette died when his car ran off the road where it crashed into a driveway culvert and overturned throwing the driver out.

He was also not wearing a seatbelt.
